Admission Requirements

There is a set of minimum requirements that participants have to fulfil.
These minimum requirements are:

  • Bachelor degree with minimum grade of 3,0
    (according to the German System with 1,0 the best grade and 4,0 the minimum passing grade)
  • Proof of a relation to the natural resources management through the previous studies of minimum 15 ECTS
  • Proof of proficiency in English language NOT older than five years:
    TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language, USA) of at least 79 points in the internet based version;
    IELTS (International English Language Testing System, UK), band 6 in the academic version;
    Cambridge First (FCE) certificate
  • Additionally applicants are required to explain their study motivation on one page (in English)
  • Applicants need to hand in a research proposal on two pages (in English)
  • A relation to the water sector is advisable – either through the previous studies or jobs

Application Deadline

Foreign applicants: until March 31st each year for the winter semester of the same year.

German applicants: until June 10th each year for the winter semester of the same year.

DAAD Scholarships: Applicants from DAC-list countries can apply for the Master program until November 15th each year for the winter semester of the following year.

Welcome Day / Graduation Ceremony

  • 9.45 a.m. – Welcome New Bachelor Students
  • 11.30 a.m. – Welcome New Master Students
  • 3.00 p.m. – Graduation Ceremony (M. Sc.)

All three events will take place at the Campus Deutz, lecture hall 3
